ACSP EP POSITIVE DISCIPLINE AND GREAT TEACHER INSPIRES PROJECT – NEWS
Is Teaching an easy job? Being a teacher has never been easy and will never be easy.
The Discipline Department in the English Program held a collaborative meeting with the teachers on the 13th and 14th of February 2024 at the ACSP Discovery Center.
POSITIVE DISCIPLINE AND GREAT TEACHER INSPIRES PROJECT aims to motivate
teachers to be more effective inside the classroom in terms of counseling, disciplining, and mentoring students as they face challenges and changes every day.
The E.P. Teachers watched the video presentation entitled “Being a teacher” by Trevor Muir, “a passionate educator, speaker, and author who believes in the transformative power of education. He has gained international recognition for his innovative teaching methods and inspiring content, which empower teachers and students to unleash their full potential”.
Three meaningful questions were reflected on from the presentation; first, what does it mean to be a teacher? second, why do you do it? and third, why do you come back day after day, year after year, over and over again?
The said project also uplifts the teachers to pamper themselves as an act of self-care physically, emotionally, and mentally.
E.P. Discipline believes that the teacher can’t pour from an empty cup. They need to relax, reflect, and rejuvenate. The entire student and school community will benefit when they are at their best.
E.P. Discipline also encouraged all teachers to openly communicate and collaborate to work hand in hand to reach our goals and standards in the field of teaching. In the later part of the lecture, some teachers were invited to share their effective management ideas and techniques based on their personal experiences inside their classrooms such as building a connection with students, understanding them, being kind, being flexible, being emphatic, and being patient, etc.
Being a teacher might not be an ideal job for everyone but it is a noble calling to shape a better future for those young learners who seek purpose and direction in their lives.
The English Program would like to thank the head of E.P. Discipline, Miss Siriwan Yuthongkham for the initiative in creating this project. A great thank you to all the teachers for your hard work and participation. A Job well done everyone!
