Primary 6 Career Loy Krathong Making: Light the Way

Primary 6 students are tasked by Ms. Amornpan, Career subject teacher, their own version of Krathong. The learners enjoyed applying their creativity and artistic skills while making it for the Loy Krathong festival also known as Thai Festival of Lights. Loy Krathong is one of Thailand's most enchanting and the second best-known annual festival after its New Year's festival Songkran, 16 November 2021.

Thai people want to float a krathong because they have long been closely involved with rivers for ages as Thailand is an agriculture-based country. This means rivers are like their own blood veins. This festival is also celebrated to pay respect to the river, basically the goddess of the river called Pra Mae Khongkha. Thai people make Krathong to worship and ask for forgiveness, wave goodbye to misfortune, wash away sins of the past year and make wishes for the coming year.
