ACSP EP shone at the 12th Online International Math Challenge

ACSP English Program is proud of the Secondary 3 students’ success at the 12th Online International Math Challenge held on 18-19 November, in which over 8000 students from 123 countries participated. The awarding ceremony occurred on 17 December 2022, giving the overseas participants ample time to arrive in Thailand.

EP students attended the awarding ceremony held at Duangduan Pisalbutr Conference Hall, Chulalongkorn University, organized by the IMC team, Ministry of Education, and Bai Mai Phli Schools. Our secondary 3 students who won in Category 3 of the international competition are: Nicha Chaiautchanarut S3/7, Prin Dispat S3/7, and Peerapat Lerdlatthaporn S3/8, who won gold awards. Voravarun Varachote S3/7, Chanaradee Sukcharoenthananon S3/8, and Paifah Pawarnvate S3/8 achieved silver awards. Winning bronze awards were Bhuwit Wajakiet S3/8, Pariyakorn Rueangarak S3/8, and Nannaphat Yuonghiran S3/8. Before the competition, the students were trained by their Mathematics teacher, Mr. Muhammad Tamim on numbers, sets, functions, statistics & probability, word problems, geometry & measurement, and non-routine problem solving.

This competition aims to encourage students to study and excel in math and critical thinking. In 2020, the IMC team decided to conduct an online version of International Math Challenge to boost the motivation of both teachers and students who had been bored, in order to maintain a goal-oriented attitude and approach to study. Especially during difficult global pandemic times, when most of the Olympiads and competitions were forced to be cancelled or postponed indefinitely.
